Paul Bower · Voice
Paul has been teaching private voice since 1995. He has taught tone-deaf ten-year olds to seasoned seventy-year olds, students who enjoy singing in the shower to students who have college degrees in voice. His basic philosophy is that everyone can learn to enjoy singing and everyone can improve, regardless of how much or how little they know about music or the voice. Paul’s approach is to begin with fundamental technique—breathing, placement, space, resonance, relaxation, and articulation—then move to style and interpretation. His students enjoy singing musical theater, folk songs, classical, and popular music. Paul has a Bachelor of Music Education degree and a Bachelor of Music degree in Voice from Northern Kentucky University and a Master of Music degree in Voice from the University of New Mexico. He sings professionally with various opera companies and other producing organizations around the country.
Leanne Lusko · Piano
Leanne began studying piano at the age of seven. At age sixteen she joined the National Guild for Piano Repertoire, where she completed three years under the program’s strict training while finishing high school. In 2003, she received her Associate of Arts degree with an emphasis in Music Theory and Composition from Shoreline Community College in Seattle, WA, where she studied classical piano under Margaret Brink. Leanne moved to New Mexico in 2004 and earned her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Music from the University of New Mexico, where she studied piano with Pamela Pyle. Several of Leanne’s music compositions have been featured in local productions and even in an independent film. Leanne’s teaching style is versatile and malleable for the sake of her students. She considers how her students make sense of the material, whether they are methodical or imaginative, and if they progress better under strict guidance or with a little more freedom. In the lessons, she encourages passion, knowledge, technique, and a fundamental to advanced understanding of the piano.
